Plain-English rules for using SnapCal. Short on purpose — there's nothing weird hiding in the long version.
1. What SnapCal does
SnapCal is an early-access Telegram bot (@snapcalendar_bot)
plus a mini-app at jen.peoplewelike.club/snap. You forward
posters, screenshots or text with an event in them; we extract the date,
time and venue using a local AI model and give you one-tap calendar
export. That's it.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 16 years old, or have a parent or guardian's consent.
- You must have a Telegram account.
- One free account per person; abuse (e.g. mass tenant creation to bypass the free tier) leads to suspension.
3. Free tier vs. Pro
You can capture forever — every screenshot you forward is saved. Exporting events to your calendar (Google / Apple / Outlook) is free for the first 5 unique events. Re-exporting the same event (e.g. Google first, then Apple) is always free — only first-time exports count toward the cap.
SnapCal Pro (coming soon, payments via Telegram Stars) lifts the 5-export cap and adds extras. Until Pro launches, everyone is on the free tier — joining the waitlist guarantees nothing other than a notification when it opens.
4. What you upload
By forwarding content to SnapCal, you confirm that:
- You have the right to upload it.
- It does not contain illegal content (CSAM, terror content, malware, etc.).
- It does not violate anyone else's privacy or copyright.
You retain ownership of everything you upload. We do not claim any rights to your content beyond the technical processing needed to extract events from it. We never share your content with third parties — see the Privacy Policy.
5. What we promise
- Reasonable effort to keep the service running, but no uptime SLA on the free tier.
- Off-host backups so a single disk failure won't lose your data (30-day rolling retention).
- Your data stays on EU servers, processed by a local AI model — never sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any third-party LLM provider.
- Self-serve
/export_data+/delete_accountcommands so you can leave at any time.
6. What we don't promise
- That every classifier output is correct. Dates and venues can be wrong; use the bot's
/edit_date,/edit_time,/edit_location,/edit_titlecommands to fix them. - That the service won't change. Features may come and go without notice during early access. Material changes (e.g. pricing, deletion of features) will be announced via the bot.
- That the service won't be discontinued. If it is, you'll get at least 30 days' notice via the bot to
/export_data.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of SnapCal's infrastructure.
- Bypass rate limits or per-tenant quotas (e.g. via fake accounts).
- Spam shared-event links to other Telegram users.
- Use SnapCal to store illegal content, including but not limited to CSAM, terror content, hate-speech material, or non-consensual intimate imagery.
We may suspend or delete an account for violating these rules. Serious violations (especially CSAM) are reported to the relevant authorities.
8. Liability
SnapCal is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The operator's total liability for any claim related to SnapCal is limited to €0 (free tier) or the amount you paid in the last 12 months (Pro tier, once launched), whichever is greater.
You are responsible for verifying that calendar events extracted by SnapCal are correct before relying on them.
9. Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of Lithuania. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Vilnius, unless mandatory EU consumer protection law gives you a more favourable forum.
10. Changes
Material changes will be announced via the bot at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
